Fake Customer Care Number Scam

Scammers create fake customer care numbers and list them on Google, social media, and other platforms. When victims search for help and call these numbers, the fraudsters pose as bank or company representatives and extract sensitive information like OTP, card details, or UPI PIN.

How it works:

• Fake customer care numbers appear in Google search results
• Victim calls the number seeking help
• Scammer pretends to be a bank/company executive
• Asks for OTP, card number, CVV, or UPI PIN to "resolve the issue"
• Uses the information to steal money from the victim's account
